Amber Hempfield
My name is Amber Hempfield. Currently, I work for the Individualizing Student Instruction Project at the Florida Center for Reading Research. I graduated from Florida State University in 2004 with my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. It was then that I realized that I wanted to specialize in reading education, and chose to stay at Florida State to earn my Master of Science degree in Reading Education and Language Arts. I just recently graduated from the master's program in April of 2007!

I thought that was hard. Little did I know, trying to find the perfect position at the perfect school is pretty hard too. My goal is to move to St. Augustine, get a job at one of their fabulous schools, and buy a house. It is now May 11, and there are yet to be any job postings for the 2007-2008 school year. I am supposed to leave my current position at the F.C.R.R. by the end of July- have a job- and have a house. Talk about stress!

Big changes have happened since Amber wrote this first entry. Look for her update in the next few days.
